What should I expect during a SkinPen Microneedling session?
Your provider will cleanse your skin and take some pictures before getting started. Topical numbing cream will then be applied to minimize discomfort, which takes about 20 minutes. Once that time is up, we remove the numbing cream and get into the actual treatment. The SkinPen device has tiny sterile needles that will pass over the skin to create micro injuries, which helps your body to produce collagen and elastin, therefore helping with fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, and pores. You might feel a slight vibration or mild pressure, but discomfort is usually minimal due to the numbing cream. There may be some pinpoint bleeding, which is normal. Your skin will look red and slightly swollen, similar to a sunburn. You may experience tightness, warmth, or sensitivity for 24-48 hours. Your provider will apply a calming serum and a take home serum. Is there any downtime after microneedling?

Can SkinPen Microneedling be added on to any additional treatments?

PRP is used as a glide during the treatment itself and applied immediate after the microneedling to accelerate results.Chemical Peels are best for reduction pigmentation, acne, and improving skin tone. Peels exfoliate, while microneedling stimulate deeper repair. You would wait at least 2-4 weeks after microneedling before doing a peel
Hydrafacial, Glo2Facial, Dermaplaning is best for exfoliating dead skin for a smoother, more radiant glow. These treatments remove surface buildup, allowing better microneedling penetration. Do these treatments a few days before microneedling.
